Christ Covenant is pastored by Rev. Brandon Wilkins. Here’s his story:

I grew up in McHenry County and am a graduate of Harvard High School (Go Hornets!). After high school, I studied history and philosophy at Augustana College (Rock Island, IL), and earned my B.A. in 2004.

It was during my sophomore year of college that the Lord ignited in me a strong desire to study the Bible and theology, and I began to sense a call to the ministry. I was involved with the Intervarsity Christian Fellowship Chapter at Augie, and served as a small group leader for two years.

Before I took that big step to seminary, there was one more important thing I needed to do: ask Laurie, my college sweetheart, if she would take that big step with me. Thankfully, she said yes! We got married in 2005, and  moved our few belongings out to southern California that summer where I attended Westminster Seminary California (M.Div. 2008).

I was ordained to pastoral ministry in the Orthodox Presbyterian Church in 2011, and called to serve as church planter at Christ Covenant.

Brandon and Laurie have three kids (Luke, Lydia, and Aaron). When Brandon is not laboring in the Word, he is reading, playing guitar, cheering on his beloved Chicago Bulls and Cubs, and spending time with his family. His favorite theological authors include: Michael Horton, R.C. Sproul, Tim Keller, D.A. Carson, C. S. Lewis, Sinclair Ferguson, and of course, John Calvin and Martin Luther.
